Adjustment Bureau Movie Review

Matt Damon stars in the Adjustment Bureau, a film about a secret organisation that goes around adjusting people's lives without them knowing. However Damon bumps into Blunt's character and falls in love, and the bureau spends the rest of the film trying to split them up. Theres a slow burn to this film and no real action to speak of. Unfortunately its never made clear who/what the bureau actually is, they are asked if they are angels, and they keep referring to us as humans, but its never answered and that really annoyed me. They also keep referencing the "chairman" and again you don't get of whiff of who/what he is either! So while the film is entertaining it leaves you feeling very frustrated with few answers.

Wizard of Oz Musical London Theatre Review

Just opened in London on 11th March at the London Palladium is the Wizard of Oz Musical. With original songs from the film and added extras by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. The musical itself follows the film exactly with all the well know songs intact, plus a few extra filler songs. Where as Wicked was completely original and surprising, this was basically the film on stage, which is a shame. However there was great wire work, pyrotechnics and amazing sets and scenery to bring the stage to life, including the tornado and house taking off! All in all it was a great experience, but Wicked pips it for originality.

Battle: Los Angeles Movie Review

Meteorites are suddenly spotted approaching Earth, but they are not all that they seem, they are alien invaders! The film kicks off with action and doesn't let up for the entire length of the film. Sent to rescue some civilians behind alien lines and then fight their way out again. In typical gun-ho, yeah-ha, American over-the-topness they believe they will prevail and wipe the aliens out, but the aliens have other ideas! There is a very basic story to this film, but this film is actually all about the effects and fighting with the aliens. If you're just looking for a great action film, then this is it.

I Am Number Four Movie Review

So much potential, so little of it realised! What is it with kids fantasy movies that they just can't seem to pull it together. A film about nine aliens on the run with superpowers from other evil aliens should be an easy fantasy film to pull off. The first hour is filled with trudging around, staying undercover, so undercover that you barely find out about Number Four's powers. Then in the last 30mins they discover the budget and blast it all on special effects. Its such a shame, as if this had been more balanced it would have kept us interested for the whole length of the film. Supposedly film one in a set of six, they'll be very lucky to get to the sequel!
